Carnegie Mellon University invited the 1,722 members of the Class of 2027+ to pursue their happiness through Orientation 2023, a series of programs and activities welcoming the new Tartans to the CMU community.
This year, over 250 Orientation events were held through the assistance of hundreds of students, volunteers, faculty and staff. Seven head orientation counselors, leading another 160 Orientation leaders and counselors, welcomed the incoming first-year students to CMU and provided them the tools with which to thrive at Carnegie Mellon.
Joining President Farnam Jahanian and other senior leaders to welcome our new Tartans, Provost and Chief Academic Officer James H. Garrett Jr. reflected, "Each year, I get excited for Orientation week because you can feel the energy of a new academic year beginning."
Happy First-Year Move-In Day to our new Tartans! It was truly a pleasure meeting you and your families today and I so look forward to getting to know you all better at @CarnegieMellon during Orientation and throughout the year. pic.twitter.com/Td125ZqDtN
